ULD Containers

Air Cargo Containers are common fixtures of business for nearly any commercial airline, air cargo company. Also known as a Unit Load Device, or ULD Container, the Air Cargo Containers are commonly used to load luggage, freight and mail on wide-body and specific narrow body aircraft. The containers allow for a large amount of cargo to be bundled into a single air cargo container, allowing for efficient and secure transportation. This allows for tremendous savings in ground crews time and effort, helping prevent delayed flights. Each Air Cargo Container or ULD Container has its own packing list or manifest so that its contents can be tracked to each destination.

Granger Plastics Company has been involved in the manufacturing of certified, airworthy, Air Cargo Containers and ULD containers for over 20 years. Granger's customers have benefitted from Granger's involvement in the aerospace industry, helping develop and innovate a number of aerospace and defense applications. Many of these Aerospace customers have benefitted from the rotational molding process, as the products and components produced are extremely durable and capable of standing up to rigourous environments. Granger's quality and expertise helped guide the decision for Granger to launch, Granger Aerospace, A Division of Granger Industries focused on providing Aerospace and Defense solutions. This decision allowed Granger Plastics to work diligently on obtaining it's highly lauded TSO C90d certification from the FAA.


Granger Aerospace has developed and is now offering the following Air Cargo Container types of ULD Containers:

LD 2 Air Cargo Containers

A timeless and traditional component of the Air Cargo industry is the LD 2 Containers, also known as DPE and DPN ULD's. The LD 2 Air Cargo Containers feature a single piece polymer shell, which offers a tremendous reduction of maintenance expense and down time, as the rotationally molded shells offer superior durability over antiquated technology, such as aluminum, polycarbonate and fiberglass. The single piece polymer shell is also available in a wide variety of colors, or even custom colors for easy identification and increased operations efficiency.

    In typical fashion of Granger's commitment to quality and excellence, Granger decided to allow it's newly unveiled, LD-3 Air Freight Container to hang in the side load position, while loaded with 5,283 pounds of sandbags.
